CBS continues to finalize its scripted roster for the 2019-20 TV season, with the network officially renewing “Blue Bloods” for a tenth season

The news comes just one day after CBS also renewed “NCIS” for its seventeenth season, guaranteeing that veteran drama a spot on its schedule next season as well. The renewal also reportedly comes after star Tom Selleck finished signing a new deal to continue appearing in the series.

“Blue Bloods has been a top-10 drama and Friday’s top-rated show every year it’s been on the air,” said CBS Entertainment President, Kelly Kahl. “On a night that many have claimed is quiet for broadcast television, its quality writing, superb acting and familial warmth have attracted an average of over 13 million passionate viewers each week for nine years. We are delighted that Tom will return and that the show will continue to be a vital component of the CBS schedule next season.”

Airing Friday nights, “Blue Bloods” has averaged around 8.5 million viewers in the live + same day ratings this season, making it the eleventh-most-watched scripted show on TV right now.

In addition to “Blue Bloods” and “NCIS,” CBS has also renewed several other titles for next season, including “The Neighborhood,” “God Friended Me,” “Mom,” “Young Sheldon,” “Criminal Minds,” and “FBI.”
