The BAU is back in action this fall
Criminal Minds is officially coming back in the fall for its staggering 12th season.
CBS ordered 22 more episodes of the procedural drama on Friday (May 6), according to TVLine.
However, no decision has been made yet on Gary Sinise's freshman spinoff Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
The original Criminal Minds remained a ratings winner throughout the current 11th season, averaging a healthy 9 million viewers each week.
Among the highlights of the just-wrapped 11th run were the return of fan favourite Paget Brewster as FBI agent Emily Prentiss.
A long-running hit for CBS, Criminal Minds first aired on the Tiffany Network way back in September 2005.
