'Dexter' renewed for sixth season

Showtime has renewed Dexter for a sixth season, reports Deadline.



The suspense drama, starring Michael C. Hall as the titular character, has performed well for the cable network this season, with the tenth episode attracting the second-highest audience in the series' history - up 43% from the fifth season premiere.

David Nevins, President of Entertainment for Showtime, said: “To grow its audience so significantly in its fifth season is an enormous accomplishment by this amazing cast and crew. This is the easiest decision I’ve made since I got to Showtime.”

The season finale will air on Sunday, December 12th in the US.
