Showtime has renewed Dexter for a sixth season, reports Deadline.The suspense drama, starring Michael C. Hall as the titular character, has performed well for the cable network this season, with the tenth episode attracting the second-highest audience in the series' history - up 43% from the fifth season premiere.
David Nevins, President of Entertainment for Showtime, said: “To grow its audience so significantly in its fifth season is an enormous accomplishment by this amazing cast and crew. This is the easiest decision I’ve made since I got to Showtime.”
The season finale will air on Sunday, December 12th in the US.
