Fox has cancelled its reality programme Utopia. The network pulled the social experiment from its lineup due to consistently low ratings, reports The Wrap.
It was previously announced that Fox was scrapping the Tuesday airing of the series, allowing the show to still be aired on Fridays, but now Utopia has been completely axed.
Utopia will be removed from the schedule starting next Friday (November 7). It will be replaced with MasterChef Junior repeats.
The live-stream camera feed will be pulled down tonight (November 9).
Utopia was originally meant to be in production for 12 months and streamed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The show was adapted from a Dutch programme model.
Fox Television Group co-chairman and co-CEO Dana Walden previously said that the network was happy to give the reality experiment time to develop an audience, but it was only on air for two months.
