Spaceballs will be reissued on Blu-ray to celebrate its 25th anniversary.



The special edition version of the Mel Brooks parody will feature more than five hours of bonus content, including a brand new featurette.

Spaceballs is already available in the high definition format, complete with many of the same extras as the latest edition. New packaging and the 'Farce Yourself! Spaceballs and the Skroobing of Sci-Fi' documentary are the only additional inclusion.

Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman and John Candy led the cast of the 1987 film, which parodied the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as other science fiction films like Planet of the Apes.

A loosely related TV show Spaceballs: The Animated Series aired on G4 and Canada's Super Channel in 2008.

Spaceballs 25th anniversary Blu-ray will be available on August 7.
