Mark Ronson reclaims number one singles slot

Mark Ronson has reclaimed the top spot in the Official UK Singles Chart this week with ‘Uptown Funk’.

The track featuring Bruno Mars returns to number one after slipping a place last week, having been overtaken by X Factor winner Ben Haenow during Christmas week.

‘Uptown Funk’ has also broken a streaming record – 2.49 million streams in the past week means Ronson beats the record of 2.34 million that he himself set last week.

Haenow’s Christmas number one – X Factor winner’s single ‘Something I Need’, which is a cover of the OneRepublic track of the same name – falls to two.

Ed Sheeran holds on to the number three spot with ‘Thinking Out Loud’, while Taylor Swift climbs three places, from number seven to number four, with ‘Blank Space’.

The top five is completed by Olly Murs and Demi Lovato, whose duet ‘Up’ falls one place to number five.

The only new entry in the UK Top 40 is Alesso’s ‘Heroes (We Could Be)’, which enters the chart at number six. The track, featuring Swedish singer Tove Lo, is the DJ and producer’s third UK Top 10 single.

Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s ‘Bang Bang’ leaps from number 23 to 11, while Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ climbs from number 32 to 15.

Magic! also re-enter the chart with ‘Rude’ this week, landing back at number 36.
