The Hangover Part III has topped the box office on its first weekend on release.
The comedy franchise’s final instalment pulled in £5.9 million to beat Fast & Furious 6 and secure first place in the UK chart.
The Hangover swan song’s opening haul is significantly down from the £10 million earnings of its predecessor in 2011. The third film’s total, however, is more than the £3.1 million debut gross for The Hangover in 2009.
Elsewhere in this week’s chart, 3D animated movie Epic is a new entry at number three and horror The Moth Diaries bows at number seven.
Oz the Great and Powerful experienced a huge surge in ticket sales to re-enter the chart at number ten.
