‘Tomb Raider’ breaks series sales records

Tomb Raider has made its debut at the top of the all-format weekly chart.

Based on week-one sales, the Tomb Raider reboot is not only the biggest-selling game of the year so far, but also the biggest-selling game in the franchise to date.

Despite a troubled launch plagued by server issues, SimCity enjoys strong week-one sales to debut in second, above fellow new releases Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 in third and The Sims 3: University Life.

Last week’s number one Crysis 3 drops down to six, above Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3 and Metal Gear Rising.

At the tail-end of the chart, Forza Horizon re-enters at 20, below Dead Space 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV.
