‘Crysis 3’ fails to match ‘Aliens: Colonial Marines’ in 1st week sales

Crysis 3 has knocked Aliens: Colonial Marines off the top of the all-format chart, despite selling fewer units in its first week on sale.

Aliens: Colonial Marines remains the biggest-selling launch of the year, but drops down to five, behind newcomers Crysis 3 and Metal Gear Rising, and beneath FIFA 13 and Black Ops 2.

Elsewhere, The Sims 3 climbs a massive 17 places to 19, below Grand Theft Auto IV and LEGO Lord of the Rings, the former of which moves up two places.

Outside of the top-20, PlayStation Vita title Persona 4: Golden enters at a respectable 32, surrounded by the likes of Battlefield 3 and Red Dead Redemption.
