Emeli Sandé reclaims albums number one

Emeli Sandé has reclaimed the album number one spot once again with Our Version of Events.

The singer-songwriter’s debut album climbed up two places to reach the top for the ninth week in total, following her Brit Awards success on Wednesday night (February 20).

Mumford & Sons also capitalised on their Brit Awards performance and award, rising three places to two with Babel.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds enter at three with their new album Push the Sky Away.

Ben Howard experiences a 583% sales increase by rising 42 places to four with Only Kingdom. The Les Misérables soundtrack drops four to complete the top five.

The Brit Award effect continues in the rest of the albums chart, with Taylor Swift rising 18 places with Red. One Direction follow up their number one single success with Take Me Home at 14 and Up All Night rising seven places to 29.

Nominees Alt-J climb 20 places to 13 with An Awesome Wave. Frank Ocean rises 28 places to 19 with Channel Orange, while Muse leap 33 to 23 with The 2nd Law.
