Michael Bublé gets Christmas No.1 album

Michael Bublé has remained at the top of the album chart this week with Christmas.

The singer’s festive longplayer tops the charts for the second week in a row, selling 317,000 copies to become the Christmas number one album.

Bublé said in a statement: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be Christmas number one. The UK is one of my favourite places to visit and it’s a real honour to have my record in so many fans’ homes this Christmas. Merry Christmas, everyone!”

Christmas is now the biggest-selling album of December and the fourth biggest-selling album of the year,

This week’s chart shows minimal movement, with just four records switching places. Olly Murs’s In Case You Didn’t Know moves up one place, pushing Mylo Xyloto by Coldplay down to number four, while Westlife’s greatest hits compilation leaps one place ahead of + by Ed Sheeran, moving up to number eight.
