Households across Nuneaton and Bedworth will be paying out more when the new Council Tax bill lands on their doormat in April.

The final figures have now been set for the 2020/21 Council Tax bills for residents across Nuneaton and Bedworth.

After Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police all set their share of the bill it has been revealed that the average Band D property will pay an extra £72.05 per year as Council Tax is rising from £1,893.45 to £1,965.50.

It was during a near four hour long meeting that the borough council set its share of the bill.

Council leader Julie Jackson said: "This is a budget that aims high, that puts our community's priorities first and a budget that will always seek that continued improvement that we all demand."

Opposing Conservative members abstained after branding the budget a 'last gasp' attempt to win votes in the run-up to the local elections on May 7.
