Power cut hits supplies to 1,700 homes in Coventry

It is a high voltage incident

A power cut has hit 1,700 homes this morning, occurring at 8:45.

Many properties have regained power, but around 400 properties in the Whitley area are still affected.

Western Power Distribution (WPD) have said the incident is high voltage.

Their website describes this, saying: "These incidents tend to be larger, affecting the wider area and could mean your neighbours are off supply too."

They expect it to be resolved by 10:30am.

At the moment it is unknown what caused the power cut.
