A Scouser, hit by the recession, is wandering gloomily along the side of the Mersey, when he sees a guy drowning out in deep water.
He pulls off his shoes, jacket and trousers and dives in without hesitation.
He swims rapidly towards the drowning man with a small crowd urging him on.
As he gets near, the guy shouts. "
off! I'm committing suicide."
The Scouser says. " Keep your voice down mate,
