What happened to arrested teens after triple stabbing in Nuneaton?Police have revealed that the investigation in to violent scenes that spread across Nuneaton town centre and left three people with stab wounds has been shelved due to a "lack of evidence".
The violence erupted almost a year ago to the day and saw a total of six people - including three injured teenagers - arrested as Warwickshire Police tried to piece together what had happened.
The first call on the evening of July 15, 2019, came from Queens Road at 7.02pm and officers were called soon after to scenes in Mount Street, Coton Road and Pool Bank Recreation Ground.
Three teenagers - a 16-year-old from Nottingham, a 17-year-old from Nuneaton and a 19-year-old, also from Nuneaton - all suffered stab wounds.
All three were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and then taken to hospital from where they were later released.
Police went on to arrest a 15-year-old from Cannock and another 16-year-old, from Nuneaton, also on suspicion of violent disorder, and a few days after a sixth boy - a 15-year-old boy from Nuneaton - became the final person arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
All six were eventually released on bail while enquiries continued.
CoventryLive contacted Warwickshire Police for an update as no news had been released since and the force has now revealed that "the investigation was filed due to lack of evidence".
No charges were ever brought against those arrested. however detectives said they would consider reopening the case "if new evidence came to light".
