Thug breaks man's jaw after he refused to hand over 60p

A dad had his jaw broken on a night out in Coventry after refusing to give a stranger 60p.

Chris Robson was with his parter and some friends in Earlsdon on Tuesday night (April 2) when the thug took exception to his refusal and punched him in the face.

The attack left the 26-year-old from Stoke Aldermoor with a broken jaw, a cut lip and blood all over his top.

Chris remains in hospital and needs surgery to help fix his jaw.

In a Facebook post, Chris's partner - and soon to be mother to his fourth child - Sonia Richards said: "Tuesday night at about 8.55pm myself, my partner and our two mates were out having a couple of drinks no causing any problems.

"We went into the Albany pub had a drink there then we were walking up Albany Road to go to the City Arms when a mixed race bloke approached me and my partner, asked us for 60p and after my partner told him no, the bloke attacked my partner and has left him with a broken jaw.

"This city is getting worse and worse can't even go out for a social drink without being attacked and what for a poxy 60p. Hope police find him."

She described the attack as a "massive shock" and said the culprit was "6ft tall, big build, short dark hair".
