A teenager has been arrested after an alleged knifepoint carjacking in Coventry

Police say they were called yesterday (March 12) at 2pm to reports of drug dealing behind flats in Charminster Drive, Stivichall.

They arrested a 17-year-old male driving a white Hyundai.

He was found in possession of a lock-knife and a significant quantity of drugs were also recovered from the car.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries showed the vehicle was running on cloned plates and had been stolen during a robbery at 12.30pm on March 3 in Raleigh Road, in the Stoke area of Coventry, during which the victim suffered a cut to his chest.

“The teenager was arrested on suspicion of car theft, drug dealing and knife possession and remains in police custody."
