Having watched the pilot of this, it is difficult to see how it blossomed the way it did. For anyone that doesn't know, it was written as a vehicle for Peter Sallis. A truly great series, sadly missed.

I only watched the pilot because I thought I heard the announcer say it starred "Peter Sellers"!

It's on in the day time Rebbonk but it's repeats. I was watching Bill Owen son today his dad said when he got the script he said son this is pure gold so I can see why it was for Peter Sallis. I recall him playing in Dr Who and Danger Man and the voice over for Wallace in Wallis and Gromit.
