The family of a teenage carer are hoping for a festive miracle after cruel con artists scammed her out of her Christmas present.

Gill Lindsay had been saving up for months to get her daughter Sienna, 14, a big gift - an iPhone X - for the special day.

The teen, who selflessly helps to care for her grandad James who has dementia, had even put money from her birthday last month towards the special present.

But after her mum and grandad stumped up the £510 asking price on Schpock - an app which allows you to buy and sell used goods - the seller shut their account down.

There is no suggestion Schpock has done anything wrong as it is merely a marketplace that provides an online framework for deal between buyers and sellers.

Its terms and conditions state it has no part in contracts between users.

Now the family from Mount Nod want to warn others about online scams to stop more Christmases being ruined.

And they're also hoping kind people from Coventry can help restore their faith in human kindness.

They are raising money so Sienna has something to open come December 25.
