A man with a fetish about performing sex acts with schoolgirls in tights exchanged more than 900 messages with a 14-year-old girl as he described what he wanted to do with her
The stream of messages was found after Pavan Rishi had indulged in similar chat with someone he believed to be another schoolgirl – but was in fact an undercover police officer.
Rishi (47) of High Ash Close, Exhall, Coventry, pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to attempted sexual communication with a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Despite having been subject to a previous investigation, Rishi escaped being jailed – and was given a two-year sentence suspended for two years.
He was ordered to take part in a rehabilitation activity, to do 100 hours of unpaid work, to register as a sex offender for 10 years, and to pay £400 costs.
Prosecutor Patrick Sullivan said the offences came to light in February after Rishi’s attempts to communicate with under-age girls led to an under-cover police officer, posing as a 14-year-old called Hannah, exchanging messages with him.
As a result of those emails and WhatsApp messages, Rishi, who had been subject to an investigation in 2002, was arrested at his home, and the police seized items including his phone.
On the phone officers found he had exchanged a total of 914 messages, in a similar vein to those with the officer, with a real 14-year-old girl between January and May last year.
Sentencing Rishi, Judge Anthony Potter told him: “Because you are 47 years of age and you have never been in trouble before, and because you were indicating a willingness to address your behaviour, I gave you an opportunity to do that."
