Mum of 11-year-old hit-and run-victim says son was 'flown into the air'The mum of an 11-year-old boy said he was flipping in the air after being hit by a car that didn't stop.
Sarah Dickens said her son Ellis suffered a head injury and a fractured elbow.
Ellis was crossing Beake Avenue near to the junction of Radford Road at 4pm on Thursday afternoon.
Sarah told CoventryLive that she couldn't believe someone could do this to a child.
She said: "He hasn't any lasting damage, he's got a fractured elbow, head injury and cuts and bruises.
"It could have been a lot worse.
"He was just coming home from school crossing Beake Avenue and a car hit him.
"He was by himself, but a lady stopped to try and help him, and she told me that the car hit him and he flew up into the air.
"He landed on a parked car so he has injuries on the side he was hit and the side he landed. "
She added: "The lady said she would take him home, but because we'd always said don't get in a stranger's car, he said he couldn't go with her.
"When he walked in he said 'I'm really sorry mum', and I asked what for, and it was then he said he'd been hit by a car and it drove off.
"I was quite shocked that some would do that to a child.
"Whoever did this, you need to come forward.
"You need to take responsibility for what you have done."
