Car smashed by falling tree branch during Storm Ali

A huge tree branch fell onto a car and went through the windscreen as high winds pummelled the region during Storm Ali.

All emergency services were called to the junction of Deedmore Road and Shilton Lane which saw two people taken to hospital.

Dramatic pictures posted by Binley fire station showed the narrow escape for the occupants who dodged serious injury.

A man and woman were taken to hospital - but by some miracle suffered only minor injuries.
