Dudley Sutton, aka Lovejoy's Tinker, dead aged 85

It's a shame as I was thinking only the other night it needs re-shooting for modern TV sets, preferably with the original cast.

Dudley's personal life wasn't too far removed from the characters he played.

There has been talk of a new series, but with Lovejoy's daughter being the lead. - Ian McShane would play her father. Somehow I doubt it'll come to much.

Even if it does I expect it'll be ruined by 'political correctness''?

McShane is still playing Lovejoy-like characters in American TV series, most recently in American Gods.
