Officers were initially called to reports of a stabbing
Police have given an update on the three men arrested after a man was attacked and left with serious injuries in Coventry.
Officers were initially called to reports of a stabbing in Stretton Avenue, Willenhall, shortly before 9pm last night.
However, they found that although the 44-year-old man had not been stabbed, he had suffered severe facial injuries after being assaulted.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
Arrests and appeal
West Midlands Police arrested three men - aged 44, 37 and 36 - on suspicion of wounding earlier today.
A spokesperson told CoventryLive this afternoon: "All three people who were arrested have been released facing no further action."
