Thousands of Jaguar Land Rover workers are set to benefit from England's World Cup heroics - after bosses decided its workforce will be coming home too.

On Wednesday, hundreds upon hundreds of JLR employees will stream out of the workplace three hours early in order to watch the all-important semi-final clash against Croatia.

The luxury car giant has agreed to trim the afternoon shift - usually 1.30pm until 9pm - down to a 6pm finish, meaning staff can get home for the game.

Meanwhile, those on the night shift will also benefit from an 11pm start as opposed to 9pm.

One JLR worker, who didn't want to be named, said: "As soon as we beat Sweden, I knew straight away that I would be missing the semi because I was on afternoons.

"I'm buzzing to be honest. We're all starting at 1.30pm and they're letting us finish at 6pm - we usually work until 9pm.

"The night shift will start at 11pm instead of 9pm so they can get the game in, too."

In a statement addressing the planned shift arrangements for England's World Cup semi-final, a spokesman said: "It's been 28 years since England were in a World Cup semi-final.

"In recognition of this achievement, we wanted our workforce to be able to enjoy the game and support the England team.

"We have worked in partnership with the Trade Union and have balloted our employees on a revised production schedule that has been design to ensure there is no impact on customers."

Absolutely stupid in my opinion. They are paid to do a job, they either do it or get fired!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
