Police are searching for a man wanted over a serious assault in Coventry - as well as firearms offences.

Officers have put out an urgent appeal to trace Daniel Sheridan.

They released the following photo to try and track him down on the force's Twitter page.

Members of the public are urged to contact the force if they spot him in the area.

The serious assault he is wanted in connection with took place in Coventry.

Man arrested over firearms offences and serious Coventry assault

A Coventry man who was being hunted by police over firearms offences and a serious assault in the city has been arrested.

Officers had put out an urgent appeal to trace Daniel Sheridan earlier this month on June 6.

The force confirmed today he had been arrested in Lincolnshire.

A spokesman for Coventry Police said joint work between West Midlands Police's Firearms Unit, Lincolnshire Police and the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit had led to the arrest of Daniel Sheridan.

They added: "He was wanted for firearms offences and a serious assault in Coventry.

"This happened [Sheridan being traced and arrested] thanks to the support of the community in Coventry."
