Cops stumbled upon cocaine worth more than £50,000 at a home in Nuneaton as they searched for a cash-point thief.

They found what is believed to be 1kg of the class A drug stashed in a property in Green Lane.

Officers were investigating a raid at Camp Hill Service Station, where a cash point had been stolen from inside during the early hours of Saturday morning, and their enquiries took them to the address nearby.

They arrested a 25-year-old man, who is from Coventry, on suspicion of burglary.

But it was during a search of the home they came across the huge drugs find.

A 38-year-old woman from Nuneaton, who has not been identified, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug.

Both the man and woman were taken into custody and questioned before being released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Anyone with information that could help police with their investigation into the ATM theft should call police 101 and quote incident 7 of May 12.

Those who have any details about the drugs discovery should call 101 and quote incident 224 of May 12.
