A callous thug attacked a homeless man as he sat outside a mini market in Nuneaton.

A 60-year-old man, who has not been identified, was attacked by a man near to the entrance to Sainsbury’s on the Cock and Bear bridge.

Police say that he was left with minor face injuries following the assault.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed that an ambulance was called to the scene at 9.35pm on Thursday (April 19). Medics treated a man at the scene and then he was discharged.

Police are now investigating the attack and they want to speak to anyone who saw a man and woman leaving the scene.

“The offender and a woman left in the direction of Queens Road and Manor Court Road,” said a spokesperson for Warwickshire Police Force.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help with enquiries should call 101 and quote incident 454 of April 19.”
