Mystery surrounds the future of one of Nuneaton’s oldest working men’s clubs as it has been put up for sale.

Fife Street Working Men’s Club has appeared on a commercial property listings site, which states the freehold social club is up for sale and comes complete with 'two large trading rooms and car park'.

The listing gives no indication of the amount wanted for the club, instead suggesting it is POA- Price On Application.

There have also been posts made on social media that an extraordinary general meeting has been called for members at the Fife-Street-based venue at 10am this Thursday (March 29).

The Telegraph contacted the club to find out more information but the number was unobtainable.

In its heyday the venue was one of the biggest names on the Nuneaton club circuit and had scores of members.

But, like so many others across the town and further afield, it is understood that membership has dwindled.

Nuneaton legend Larry Grayson is believed to have made his stage debut at the club, singing with The Very Lights concert party.
