One shop I don't remember - Easterns

The right hand corner of the Precinct when looked at from Broadgate.

Anyone remember them or know what they sold?

Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

I think you mean left corner Reboonk, where Starbucks is now?

No, opposite side. The building runs on to the Leofric Hotel to the right.

Ah, I see.

There was an Easterns furniture business in Coventry around the time the picture was taken but whether this is one of their's I couldn't be sure? It must have been short-lived as I only ever remember that shop being occupied by Alexander menswear when I arrived here in the late 1950s.

Update:

Definitely Easterns Furniture as confirmed by another picture far too big to post here. They occupied two floors of the Leofric block and had another entrance at the rear on the upstairs balcony:

The picture is dated 13th July 1955 and work on the upper level of the Precinct hasn't yet been completed.

Thanks Dutchman.

Apologies for the poor cropping, but the picture I had was also big, but poor quality as well.

Alexandre's was I think the other side - Burton's went in to Eastern's
