All DWP staff have a 'quota' of sanctions which they must impose every month or else face disciplinary action themselves. Their bosses aren't concerned whether the sanctions are justified or not.

The very reason a friend of mine in the 1980s gave her notice in at social as she did nt agree with the rise while widows and one parents were denied any benefit grants for clothes house hold furniture cookers etc.
