Machete and drugs seized after police chase in Nuneaton

Nasty... this was seized from a car following a police chase in Nuneaton last night



THIS NASTY looking weapon was found in the car of a driver who failed to stop and caused a police chase in Nuneaton.

According to Warwickshire Police Force's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) the machete was found in a vehicle of a car that they had tracked across town.

In a post on Twitter, OPU Warwickshire said: "Fail to stop in Nuneaton. Driver arrested. Positive breath test, possession of drugs, dangerous driving and machete found in vehicle."

At the time of publication, the location of the police chase was not known.

However, the News has received reports of a high speed police chase at around 11pm last night (Friday, July 28).

A passer-by noted that it started on the Bull Ring and went down Heath End Road, Arbury Road, Ansley Road and into the Ansley area.

A police helicopter could also be heard around the Galley Common area of town last night too.

It is unclear if the incident is linked to that of the machete find.
