Homes damaged during 'incident' in Bedworth

DAMAGE was caused to windows and doors at a number of homes in Bedworth during an 'incident'.

Warwickshire Police has confirmed that a number of properties in the Tewkesbury Drive and Wootton Street area were damaged this morning (Monday, May 22).

A spokesperson said that the Wootton Street junction with Bulkington Road was temporarily closed off while officers dealt with a vulnerable man, who was believed to have been on the roof of a property.

"Police were called to the concerns for the welfare of a vulnerable man in the Tewkesbury Drive and Wootton Street area of Bedworth shortly after 9.55am this morning," the spokesperson said.

"Officers and ambulance attended and the man is being taken to hospital for specialist medical treatment.

"Damage is reported to have been caused to windows and doors to a number of properties in Tewkesbury Drive and Wootton Street and officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be speaking to local residents and providing community reassurance in the area."
