The theft comes just two days after another showroom worker was mown down and dragged along the road in a similar carjacking.

The a BMW 5 series was stolen from a garage in Fletchampstead Highway, Tile Hill, after a salesman took the apparent customer on a test drive.

The garage is set to pass CCTV images of a man they think might have information about the theft to the police.

The garage told the Telegraph: “The salesman got out of the car to swap drivers when the customer locked them out of the car and drove off.

“It has left them very shaken, especially after what happened just a couple of days ago.

“We have got an image on CCTV who we think may hold some information.”

A police spokesman said: " Police were called to reports that a BMW 5 series had been stolen on Torrington Avenue, Tile Hill, at around 3.30pm yesterday (18 January).

"Officers are looking into claims that the car was taken by a man posing as a potential buyer.

The investigation is at an early stage, but anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 20CV/ 12686T/17."

I really don't get this. Don't they ask for sight of a driver's licence before test driving? Last time I test drove a car, they photocopied my licence 'for insurance purposes'.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

You can buy a convincing looking driver's licence for £50 on the internet.
