A thief stole three vacuum cleaners, a TV and bread during a five-month crimewave across Coventry.
Tony Wills targeted stores such as The Range, Tesco and Heron Foods, as well as accommodation that helps the city’s homeless, during his spree.
Wills also admitted stealing razor blades, crisps, coffee and other food items when he pleaded guilty to a total of eight offences at Coventry Magistrates’ Court.
The 34-year-old, of Cheveral Avenue, Radford, pleaded guilty to failing to attend a drugs assessment and failing to answer bail, on top of the thefts.
Wills was given an 18-week prison sentence suspended for a year to allow him to take part in a residential course to tackle his drug habit and prevent further offending.
He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
