Woman targeted by handbag thief as she walked home in Nuneaton

Witness appeal... officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information about the handbag theft on Saturday night (October 29).

A WOMAN walking home alone in Nuneaton was flung to the floor by a handbag thief.

The victim, who has not been identified, was targeted as she walked along Queens Road on Saturday night (October 29).

She was walking along the road at around 11.30pm when an unknown man ran up to her from behind.

He snatched her handbag and, in the process, flung her to the floor and then ran off.

The woman needed hospital treatment after suffering a pain to her arm.

Police are investigating the bag snatch and have been trawling through CCTV footage in the area in a bid to trace the suspect.

Anyone with any information about the theft or who knows who was responsible should contact police on 101, quoting incident 457 of October 29.
