Police in Coventry arrested an off-road motorbike rider who was armed with two machetes.

Officers were called to woods in the Red Hills area of Longford this morning after a complaint from a member of the public about a nuisance biker.

There they detained a male who was found to be in possession of two large knives.

A Longford Police spokesman said: “The male was found in the Red Hills off the canal after tip off from member of the public about a nuisance bike being ridden in the area.

“We followed the tracks into the woods where we found the male with the bike, engine still hot and with two machetes in his possession.

“These were immediately seized and the male detained. We walked him to a more accessible area with the bike where he was then arrested and the bike recovered.”
