Two men have been arrested following an incident in Edmund Road in Foleshill just after 10pm yesterday
A man has been found dead at a house in Foleshill.
Police were called last night to a man who had collapsed.
Police are still at the scene this morning to carry out a forensic investigation.
The man found was 47 years old.
Police officers were called to Edmund Road in Foleshill at 10.05pm last night to reports of a man that had collapsed.
His death is being treated as unexplained and post mortem will take place.
Two men aged 42 and 43, who were at the address have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently helping police with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Paul Joyce from Force CID said: “Officers were called to the address last night by ambulance colleagues.
“The death is being treated as suspicious and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause.
“At this stage we are investigating the circumstances of the death and I’m asking for anyone who has any information or anyone who was in the area last night to contact Force CID on 101.”
While the forensic investigation is carried out, police have blocked off Edmund Road at the entrance from Foleshill Road and where the street becomes Lewis Road.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said it is not known exactly when the post mortem examination on the 47-year-old man will take place.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics attended the scene in Edmund Road last night.
They said: “We were attended with police and found a patient on the floor. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”
