A man has been found dead at a house in Foleshill.

Police were called last night to a man who had collapsed.

Police are still at the scene this morning to carry out a forensic investigation.

The man found was 47 years old.

Police officers were called to Edmund Road in Foleshill at 10.05pm last night to reports of a man that had collapsed.

His death is being treated as unexplained and post mortem will take place.

Two men aged 42 and 43, who were at the address have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Paul Joyce from Force CID said: “Officers were called to the address last night by ambulance colleagues.

“The death is being treated as suspicious and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause.

“At this stage we are investigating the circumstances of the death and I’m asking for anyone who has any information or anyone who was in the area last night to contact Force CID on 101.”

While the forensic investigation is carried out, police have blocked off Edmund Road at the entrance from Foleshill Road and where the street becomes Lewis Road.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said it is not known exactly when the post mortem examination on the 47-year-old man will take place.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics attended the scene in Edmund Road last night.

They said: “We were attended with police and found a patient on the floor. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”

Foleshill death: 43-year-old man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man who was found in a house in Foleshill this week.

Rajinder Gill, aged 48, was found at the house in Edmund Road on Monday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of murder and today police have said that Harjinder Singh Dhillon, 43, of Hayes Lane, Exhall, has been charged.

The other man who was arrested has been released without charge.

Dhillon appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.

A post mortem examination was carried out earlier this week and further tests are on-going to establish the cause of death.

Exhall man killed his cousin in a drunken rage at victim's house in Foleshill

A Coventry man has been jailed for five years after admitting killing his cousin in a drunken rage in September last year.

Harjinder Singh Dhillon, aged 44 from Hayes Lane, Exhall, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of 48-year-old Rajinder Singh Gill two weeks earlier.

Dhillon admitted beating Mr Gill following an argument on Monday, September 26, after he had forced his way into his victim’s home on Edmund Road, Foleshill.

A post mortem examination revealed the father-of-three died from multiple blunt trauma injuries and alcoholic liver disease.

The court heard that a friend had raised the alarm when he realised Mr Gill was badly injured, but sadly he was already dead by the time emergency services arrived.

Det Sgt Angela Baggott, from Force CID, said afterwards: “This is a tragic case where alcohol has played a large part in the outcome.

“Dhillon will now have to live with his conscience as well as the loss of his cousin.”

Only 5 years? :stir:
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
