A man conned Royal Mail out of thousands of pounds by printing out fake postage stamps and using them to mail hundreds of parcels from Hillfields Post Office.

Nurudeen Werra, of Redcap Croft, Holbrooks, avoided £11,000 of charges by setting up the elaborate scam using the so-called SmartStamp system.

He was caught out when Royal Mail carried out a random check and found something amiss.

Werra, aged 40, was put under surveillance and his scam was uncovered.

He pleaded not guilty to fraudulently obtaining parcel delivery services from the Royal Mail and three charges of possessing articles for use in fraud.

Jurors didn’t believe him though, finding him guilty of all four charges which led to 18 months behind bars.

Jailing Werra, Recorder Sarah Buckingham adjourned a confiscation hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act for an investigation to be carried out into Werra’s finances.

Would be a lot cheaper to send him back to Nigeria or wherever he came from.

Sadly Dutchman, it won't happen. Too many blue-rinsed, lilly-livered, yellow-bellied, pseudo middle class, do-gooders in our society today. And the rest don't care as long as they have cheap booze, fags, football, soaps and reality TV! No wonder this country's going to the dogs!

Still, maybe once we get clear of the rotten and corrupt EU we'll start doing what's right and repatriating those that don't behave when they are guests in our country.

I'll not hold my breath though. :stir:
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

I agree Rebbonk and Dutchman same as the foreign woman last year or year before I think it was, whom the government employed for her to be in charge of all the charity money for the country she came from which was hundreds of thousands she took off with by placing it into an account out side this country and had it all for herself.
I have always said they should never be placed in jobs where you need trust like these or decsion making as they on a whole are more bias than us I have found What makes me laugh one of my grandson a few years back applied to Royal Mail to be refused the job you could nt get more honest than him now he is in a far better job.

Then Labour wants us to take in 25 thousand more like this :fuming:
