Who got sent home in tonight's show?

The Great British Bake Off has lost another baker - and it was poor Louise Williams who got shown the tent door this week.

We kind of had a hunch that it would be Louise heading home after she dropped her signature sheep-shaped biscuits on the floor, came second from bottom in the technical challenge and had a complete disaster in the showstopper round when her gingerbread church collapsed with no time to fix it.

"Poor Louise, she had a disastrous day," Mary Berry said. "But full marks for carrying it off with a big smile."

But it seems that we might have missed the best of Louise, who admitted after her exit that she didn't get to show us what she can really do.

"I was disappointed, because I didn't get my chance to shine," she said. "My real passion is bread - I bake it all the time. But my weakness as a baker is biscuits, so I am sorry that Paul didn't get to taste my speciality - focaccias."

But Louise is looking on the bright side and even said she would repeat her Bake Off experience "in a heartbeat".

"The gingerbread house was an A1 disaster," she joked. "It absolutely completely self-destructed, and I just had to take a mess up to Paul and Mary. I laugh at it now but it was devastating at the time. I think I could have got top marks for a cake disaster award."

We'll fight you for it, Louise…

It was a much better day in the Bake Off tent for Candice Brown, though, who ended up in tears during last week's launch show but actually won Star Baker this time around.

It was largely thanks to her incredible gingerbread pub, complete with a pool table and a sticky gingerbread cake carpet. We didn't think we could love gingerbread (or pubs) more…
