Bell Green pedestrian suffers head injury in collision with car

Woman was taken to the city's University Hospital after the collision this morning

A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Coventry.

Paramedics and police were called to the incident at the busy junction of Bell Green Road and Henley Road, in Bell Green, at around 10.40am this morning.

The road was blocked off and officers remain at the scene at present.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that the woman had suffered a head injury and had been taken to University Hospital in Walsgrave.

The hospital had been pre-alerted to her arrival.
