Magistrates handed the sentence to Paul Swindle following his actions in Coventry earlier this yearA driver who took a car without consent and then failed to stop after causing an accident has been banned from getting behind the wheel for three years.
Paul Swindle, of Queen Victoria Road, in Coventry city centre, was also ordered to pay £300 compensation to a woman he injured in the collision in Proffitt Avenue, Bell Green, on February 25.
The 32-year-old appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court and admitted charged of taking a vehicle without consent, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
As well as the three-year ban and compensation to be paid, Swindle was given a community order including a 19-day programme order and 100 hours of unpaid work.
