Visitors to libraries throughout Coventry will now benefit from free Wi-Fi.
The service is unlimited and is already running throughout 16 of the city’s libraries.
Caludon Library will have their free Wi-Fi installed over Easter.
The announcement means visitors will be able to connect their smartphones, tablets and laptops to the internet to add to their experience.
The funding for the new service has come from the government as part of their aim for all public libraries to offer free Wi-Fi access.
Coun David Kershaw, cabinet member for education , said: “I’m delighted our libraries and information service and our ICT service have been able to work together to make this happen.
“So many of us have become reliant on our technology to help us work and study and getting a good, reliable Wi-Fi connection is so important.
“Our libraries are, and will remain, a great place to find a good book, but this offers so much more for visitors to our libraries.”
Previously Wi-Fi was only available at Allesley Park, Bell Green , Central, Foleshill and Willenhall Libraries and was limited to two hours use.
The council could extend free Wi-Fi to cover the whole city as many cities in Scandinavia have done but for political reasons they won't.
