The drugs, which have a street value of more than £800,000, were spread across eight rooms within the property in Broad Street, Foleshill.

Officers responded to reports of the drugs den just after 10.30am on Wednesday and found a “professional” set-up.

A total of 817 plants which were at various stages of growth have been seized.

PC Martin Burman, from Coventry police, said: “This appears to be a professional set-up and led to the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis.

“We are committed to tackling drugs and would urge anyone who is suspicious about a property being used in the production of cannabis to contact us.”

No-one has been arrested and police are appealing for anyone with information to call officers at Coventry on 101.

The discovery comes just days after two other cannabis farms were found elsewhere in the city after a tip-off from a power distribution company.

Plants were found at properties in Branstree Drive, Holbrooks, and Harefield Road, Stoke.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug offences and released on police bail.

Perhaps if plod was on the beat they'd smell what many of us can smell as we walk around the city.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
