Police are appealing for witnesses after an 86-year-old pensioner was knocked to the ground by a car in a Coventry car park.
The elderly woman was injured when the vehicle reversed out of a parking space and struck her by the Empress shopping precinct off Binley Road.
The woman had walked across the car park from the Iceland store towards Binley Road when she was struck by a light coloured car, possibly a Volvo V40 saloon.
The incident happened at around 10.30am on Wednesday February 10.
The driver initially helped the woman − who suffered a back injury − to her feet but subsequently fled the scene.
He is described as white and of large build.
Anyone with information is urged to call police at Coventry on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
