Poundworld - who already boast stores in Coventry, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford-on-Avon - opened their newest Warwickshire shop on January 30.

The new store, in The Square, is Poundland's first in Kenilworth.

Its opening is part of the company’s 99p conversion, following the successful £55million takeover of rival 99p Stores last year.

Poundland opened its first store in Burton-on-Trent in 1990, and boasts 588 stores nationwide.

Serving over 7 million customers every week, Poundland offers thousands of quality products in each store, including over 1,000 well-known brands.

Poundland's deals stretch across 17 shopping categories, including food and drink, health and beauty, household, gardening, DIY, pets, stationery, books, DVDs and toys.

The merger between Poundland and 99p Stores has created a network of 800 shops, including five 99p Stores in Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby and Kenilworth.

Speaking about it last year, Poundland chief executive Jim McCarthy said: "We believe that the acquisition of 99p Stores will be great for both customers and for shareholders."

Last month, Poundworld’s Coventry ‘megastore’ opened its doors for business.
