England's opening Rugby World Cup match against Fiji attracted an average audience of 7.56 million (35.3%) viewers on Friday evening (September 18).
ITV's coverage of the Rugby World Cup opener peaked with a whopping 9.26 million at around 8.30pm.
Farrah Abraham's eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house was seen by an average audience of 1.18 million (5.5%) from 9pm on Channel 5. The show peaked with 1.38 million (6.1%) as the results were announced.
A further 599k (5%) watched Farrah's controversial appearance on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side at 10.30pm, while 347k (4.5%) stuck around for live footage from the house immediately after.
BBC One's evening kicked off with 3.54 million (20.5%) for The One Show at 7pm, followed by 3.12 million (16.3%) for Would I Lie To You? at 8.30pm.
Still Open All Hours was seen by 2.61 million (11.8%) at 8.30pm, followed by 2.19 million (9.5%) for Ripper Street. The evening ended with 115 million (9.1%) for Mountain Goats at 10.45pm.
Gogglebox once again Channel 4's highest-rated show, attracting an average audience of 2.35 million (10.2%) at 9pm.
It was sandwiched between Sarah Millican Hijacks Deal or No Deal with 930k (4.2%) and 1.11 million (7.1%) for Alan Carr: Chatty Man at 10pm.
The Great British Menu kicked things off with 1.48 million (7.7%) for BBC Two, followed by 1.29 million (5.8%) for Mastermind.
Gardeners' World continued with 1.76 million (8%), while The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice was seen by 2.12 million (9.1%). Rick Stein's From Venice to Istanbul picked up 1.38 million (6.7%) at 9.30pm.
Murder She Wrote was among the highest-rated multichannel shows, attracting 444k (2.5%) on ITV3.
