Call the Midwife's Trixie joins Strictly Come Dancing

Call the Midwife actress Helen George is the 13th celebrity confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing.



The 31-year-old star - who plays Nurse Trixie Franklin in the acclaimed BBC One drama - was announced for the lineup at the Edinburgh TV Festival today (August 26) by Controller of BBC One Charlotte Moore.

"I'm really excited to be joining Strictly," George enthused. "I know it's going to be a challenge and if I'm honest I'm slightly terrified, but I can't wait to get my tan and sequins on!"

She joins Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote, Katie Derham, Carol Kirkwood, Peter Andre, Daniel O'Donnell, Anthony Ogogo, Jay McGuiness, Anita Rani and Jamelia in the glittering lineup.

The final two celebrity contestants for the new series of Strictly will be revealed on The One Show tomorrow (August 27) on BBC One from 7pm.
