A Nuneaton home allegedly used as a drug den has been officially shut down by the police and officers from the borough council's housing team.

The occupants of the property, in meadow Court Nuneaton, were served a closure order after a court hearing yesterday, meaning no one can enter the property for three months.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council says the order follows complaints about the unlawful use and supply of drugs and high levels of anti-social behaviour from the address.

I'm all for closing drug dens down, but the word 'allegedly' worries me here. It sounds like this was based on nothing more than hearsay and that's a dangerous avenue to go down. I'd be far happier had it been proven, offenders faced the courts, were found guilty and then the place was shut down.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

A drugs den near me was closed down but the dealer who lived there was given a similar home about 100 yards away!
