Coronation Street and EastEnders both stayed above the 6 million mark in a close evening for the soaps on Friday (May 15), overnight figures show.
Corrie was the most-watched programme of the day, claiming 6.24m (34.4%) at 7.30pm on ITV as Anna reached the end of her tether over Faye's attitude towards Miley. 6.15m (30.1%) returned at 8.30pm on ITV and 234k (1.2%) on +1 as Anna received a surprise visit from Jackson and his mum.
EastEnders brought in 6.07m (31.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with cliffhangers over Dot's trial and the paternity of Linda's baby son. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 379k (2.3%) at 10.15pm.
Emmerdale attracted 5.2m (31.8%) at 7pm on ITV with the latest drama for Chrissie and her family.
Neighbours grabbed 585k (9.9%) at 1.45pm and 755k (6.4%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Bailey said his goodbyes to Erinsborough.
Hollyoaks interested 590k (3.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Mercedes's family discovered she is still alive, while E4's first look topped the multichannels with 500k (3.0%) at 7pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.39m (23.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
